Couple Counselling
Every relationship experiences challenging phases, and sometimes communication breaks down, leaving partners feeling disconnected, unheard, or misunderstood. Navigating these relationship hurdles can be difficult when you are also trying to manage complex family dynamics. As a BC Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), I offer culturally responsive, bilingual therapy in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin to help you and your partner reconnect.
How It Works ?
Effective relationship therapy requires understanding both the shared dynamic and each partner's unique perspective. Our work together typically consists of two stages:
-
We begin by meeting individually to explore your personal experiences, identify where the gaps or core issues lie, and ensure both of you feel ready to engage in a meaningful and productive dialogue.
-
Once the groundwork is laid, we will sit down together as a couple. In a neutral, safe space, we will openly discuss your challenges and work toward genuine clarity and connection.
Why Choose Couples Therapy?
Healing a relationship means addressing immediate conflicts while exploring the underlying stress that triggers them. Using Trauma-Focused CBT and psychodynamic approaches, we will work together to:
-
Navigate deep-rooted intergenerational trauma and understand how it shapes your relationship patterns.
-
Drop the mask to communicate honestly and process heavy emotions without the fear of judgment.
-
Explore your bicultural identity as a couple and manage the strain of rigid cultural expectations.
Flexible Options for Your Relationship
Finding time for therapy while balancing work and family can be overwhelming. To accommodate your life, I provide in-person couples counselling at established clinics in Richmond and Vancouver, as well as virtual therapy via a secure, private video platform for couples anywhere in BC.
